Meet Baby "G" {Austin Newborn Photographer}

On Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of making a drive to New Braunfels, Texas, to do a photo shoot with newborn baby boy "G."  (Click here and here to see photos from the maternity session.)  Miles and his daddy even got to go, and they got in some good exercise on the trampoline and playscape in the back yard!

I have to say, being a small town girl myself, I could definitely live there.  Don't get me wrong, I love (love!)  Austin, but growing up in a town of 1,200 in the Midwest instills a definite "small town spirit" in a girl's heart.  You can take the girl out of the small town, but you can't take the small town out of the girl!

What a beautiful home they just moved into, and what a perfect family of three they now get to enjoy being.  Baby "G" is just perfect.  Here are some shots from our day.  More posted at my "Miles of Smiles Photography by Sarah" facebook page.

Sweet Baby "G" {Austin Baby Photographer}

I think it is safe to say... I am in love!  I had the pleasure of serving my sweet friend L again today by photographing her sweet family of three.  (Previously, I enjoyed doing her maternity photos.  Click here to see her pretty baby bump.)

Little man "G" is just too cute.  I honestly forget how tiny newborns are.  Her son weighed exactly what mine did when he was born, but even then... I just hardly remember Miles being that tiny.  Time sure does fly.  That is why I love capturing sweet moments like these for families to frame and enjoy for years to come.

More photos from this session coming soon!

LB Wedding: The Couple... Part II {Austin Wedding Photographer}

Here are more photos of the couple from the Lindenberger-Beck wedding.

McKinney Falls State Park is where they had their first date, so how fitting that it is where they tied the knot!

LB Wedding: The Happy Couple Part I {Austin Wedding Photographer}

This couple kept it old-fashioned and did not see each other until the bride walked down the aisle. I love that, and even more so, I love capturing that first glance, the first smile of a groom looking at the bride he is about to marry. It reminds me of my wedding day and turning that corner to see my handsome groom.

Here are some of my favorite shots of the happy couple during the ceremony.

I had never met this couple until their wedding day (they live far from Austin), but after being at their wedding and meeting their family and friends, I feel like I have know them for a long time. They said they felt the same about me, which really meant a lot.

LB Wedding: The Pretty Ladies {Austin Wedding Photographer}

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I had such a lovely time photographing the Lindenberger-Beck wedding this month.

There were so many sweet details about the day that I loved, and one of them was certainly the fun and laughter that these women shared together. You could tell their friendships ran very deep and way back in time, and it was fun to see them all celebrate together.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of the women.

Sweet Sisters

Instead of bouquets, bridesmaids had parasols, which were just beautiful (and oh-so-functional!)

The Hartman Family {Austin Family Photographer}

One of the best parts about being a photographer is the incredible and inspiring people and families that I meet along the way. The Hartman family is certainly one of those.

I love seeing how God connects his people. Although this family goes to my church, I hadn't met them in person until our photo shoot. I ended up connecting with them through a woman I met at a business networking event recently.

A little over a year ago, I remember sitting in church and holding little Miles. He was only a few months old at the time and was sleeping in my arms. They played a video of a family in our church who had experienced a very scary accident with their then 11 year old son, JD. Tears ran down my cheeks as I looked at the little boy sleeping in my arms and thought about how hard that situation must be for the Hartmans. Another reason for those tears was the incredibly moving story of their faith in God through all of it.

Last weekend, I had the honor of meeting the Hartmans and doing their family photos. It is so obvious the amount of love this family feels for one another. They have four beautiful children who were so kind and sweet toward me. And Beth said she was so excited, because they haven't had any family photos taken with all 6 of them since before JD's accident.

I love the way the photos turned out. They really demonstrate the love that this family feels for one another. (More photos will be posted at my "Miles of Smiles Photography by Sarah" facebook page soon.) Please note that the images below are compressed for the sake of upload time.

Here is the video I saw that day at church. And here is their family's story.

If you live in Austin, please mark your calendar and come out to the BBQ4JD event on Friday, April 29th from 6-9pm. There will be amazing activities for the kids, good BBQ, and much more. It is at the Circle C Child Development Center in South Austin.

Visit http://www.hope4jd.com/ and click on "Events" for all details.
I am beyond thankful for this journey that God has put me on with photography, and so blessed to come into contact with people like the Hartmans.

LB Wedding: Beauty All Around {Austin Wedding Photographer}

On Friday afternoon, I was fortunate enough to photograph the Lindenberger-Beck wedding at the beautiful McKinney Falls State Park. It was a gorgeous day, such a sweet, elegant, and meaningful wedding, and I have to say - probably the most fun four hours of work I have ever had.

I feel so blessed and excited to be living out my photography dream. It is a lot of work, and requires many hours of preparation and editing... but providing people with affordable and beautiful photos that they can cherish forever is so very, very fulfilling.

The wedding was so sweet. So simple, yet so elegant. So all about the things that the couple cared about most... each other and their family and friends.

And the bridesmaids were all kinds of fun! We even loaded up into my minivan and headed to a sweet location for the gal shots. (My minivan sure does come in handy for hauling fitness equipment for my personal training clients... and now bridesmaids for weddings!)

More photos are coming soon, so stay tuned!

Here Comes The Bride {Austin Wedding Photographer}

Here are some of my favorite shots of the beautiful bride from the wedding that I photographed last week. She was beautiful, relaxed, and so gracious.

Doesn't this first one look like a CD cover for a band?

Interview on The Work at Home Woman

Here is my interview featured on "The Work at Home Woman" this month. I am so grateful for this site and all of the incredible tools, resources, and encouragement I have gained from it.

Can you believe my entrepreneurial journey started at a horse sale when I was a tiny girl in Iowa? I sweet talked my dad into buying me a rabbit (named Frosty!) for $1.50 and that is where it all began...

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your entrepreneurial journey.

I am a mother to a sweet 18-month old boy named Miles. I was born and raised in the Midwest and have lived in Austin since 2004. The entrepreneurial spirit has long been a part of me, as my journey began when I was a little girl and ran my own rabbit business in small town Iowa. (I sold them as pets, not as food!) I bought my first rabbit at a horse sale for $1.50 and had no idea that it would be the start of my business career!

I always knew that I wanted to be a mother and also that I wanted to work, but I had no idea how much of a struggle working a full time job would be once I became a mom. Being out of the house over 50 hours a week and trying to keep up with life, home, and family was simply not working. I knew I needed to make a change because I was slowly falling apart and my family (and myself) deserved more.

Exciting News! Featured Interview on "The Work at Home Woman.com!"

This week started off better than most. (Most weeks start off pretty well, but this week was especially great!)

I am so grateful and excited to have been featured Monday in an interview on a nationally known and respected web site called "The Work at Home Woman!" I have been so impressed with and grateful for this web site and all of the AMAZING articles, encouragement, and resources that it has given me on my journey of starting Miles of Smiles Photography and Live Fit Austin.

If you are ever looking for work at home opportunities, articles and resources on starting, growing, and excelling at your business, or just need some woman-to-woman encouragement, this site is for you! It is a one stop shop, and in the world of Internet, (and the overwhelming number of websites there), that is greatly appreciated and makes for much more efficient time online.

Anyways... I could go on and on about how much I enjoy the site and think that the creator has an incredible thing going. But I am SO excited that she featured me in an interview.

Click here
for the whole article. And be sure to register for her 2-year anniversary giveaways! I donated a photography session, and there are many amazing prizes!

A Sweet Reminder

I feel like I am reminded daily about how quickly time passes since I became a mother. And photos like this are such a reminder of how tiny and fresh life is when it begins. (And how it is so perfectly placed into a mom and daddy's hands.)

I talked to this mama today, and she said it's been a month already since sweet baby "C" came into this world and we did this shoot. I cannot believe she's already a month old!

Just like I could not believe I was already converting my son's crib into a toddler bed over the weekend. It seems like not long ago, I had a nice round belly, Miles was doing kickboxing classes in there, and I was just putting that crib together.

Time flies. Just another reason to cherish every sweet moment...

Beauties {Austin Children's Photographer}

These two little beauties are very near and dear to my heart. They were even in my wedding several years ago! I remember when they were just pretty little bumps in their mama's belly... and here they are - already such little ladies!
