2013 Holiday Card Options

I know it is hard to think about the holidays being close when it is still 95 degrees outside in Austin, but truth be told, they holidays are not too far off!  And my Fall 2013 calendar is almost full - so if you're thinking of booking a session, now is definitely the time.  Don't wait until it's too late to capture those sweet smiles on camera.

The S Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I loved working with the S family again!  This is the third time I've gotten to work with this sweet little girl since she was born.

What a fun age she is, and such a lovely little lady.  She has grown up so much since I first photographed her here.  I think she was the second newborn that I ever photographed!

And don't even get me started on how much I adore her mama.  She is the one that pretty much got me to move to Austin in 2004, and is not only my friend, but a mentor and inspiration to me as well.

And you know how much I love downtown Austin in the background, so when she said she wanted some skyline shots, I happily obliged!  Enjoy a sneak peek into our morning together.

One of the things I love about portrait sessions is helping my clients bring an idea to life.  This sweet pea loves her puppy, so her mama wanted to make be sure we incorporated it into some images.  And then we created a sweet Artful Word Overlay 8x12 mounted wall print for her room to go with her as she grows.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is sitting down with my clients and designing the perfect customized art pieces for their home.  One of my favorite print sizes right now is a 10x20.  It looks so great in a framed print, with a collage print in a boutique frame, or in a canvas gallery wrap!  I just love the unique size of these (definitely not something that everyone already has) and how they look in frame and a canvas gallery wrap!

Canvas Gallery Wrap Collection: Nursery {Austin Family Photographer}

Obviously, I love the shooting and social side of being a photographer.  My clients are just plain amazing.  But one of my very favorite parts of this job is creating custom artwork for my clients' homes. 

As my business has evolved over its first two years, I have found that as a photographer, there is so much more to my role than just turning over a CD of digital images to my clients and having them figure it out from there.  Part of my responsibility as their photographer is to take the guesswork out of the equation and help them create masterpieces.  To get them gorgeous things... tangible things... to adorn their walls and homes. 

I have a sweet spot in my heart for canvas gallery wraps.  They are amazing, unique, and just incredible art pieces that add such a sweet touch to any walls or rooms.

Here is a sample of a nursery wall collection.  Isn't it sweet?  I know that every day (several times a day, in fact), I marvel at the newborn portraits our photographer took of my little girl when she was born.  Babies grow and change so quickly... it's so fun capturing the tiny moments and looking back on them.

Valentine's Day Mini-Sessions are Here! {Austin Children Photographer}

I am excited to announce that I will be offering Valentine's Day mini-sessions!  Just 4 spots available.

Details:

• For children only.  *Children must be sitting up unassisted.  South Austin.
• Thursday, Jan. 31st (Indoors - up to 2 kids*.  Starting at 9:45am.)
• Saturday, Feb. 2nd (Outdoors - up to 3 kids*.  Starting at 9:00am.)
• 20-minute mini-session
• $200 + tax
• Paperwork and payment are due one week before mini-session

Includes: 

• 5 high-resolution and fully edited digital images on CD with print release
• 12 5x7 custom Valentine photo cards -or- 24 custom Valentine wallets (See samples below)
• 5 free online / Facebook share images (same images as your high-resolution digital images, but sized and watermarked for safe online sharing) 

CDs and custom Valentine photo cards will be ready for pickup 5 business days after mini-sessions.  

Our indoor session backdrop will be simple and clean with fun props and love-themed accessories, which allows you to get those kiddos dressed up in something super FUN and colorful for this love-themed mini-session!

What-to-Wear Ideas: (A great place to look for cute clothing ideas is on Pinterest.)

• BOYS: Denim overalls (with no shirt underneath), bowtie, tie, suit jacket, newsboy cap, etc.
• GIRLS: Anything pink, red, and girlie.  And Tutus are super cute!
• FUN: Red lipstick "kisses" on their cheeks (wait until you arrive to put them on cheeks)
• We have several cute things you can use... heart chalkboards, lace rompers (for girls 6 months to 2 years), bowtie, etc.  Just note it on your paperwork if you want to use something on our prop list.  

Card options: Be sure to note which you prefer on your paperwork.  12 5x7 cards (and select the one you want below) or 24 wallets (select the one you want in wallet section below).  Additional cards, wallets, prints, fine art products and/or digital images are available for purchase.

Collage & Calendar Samples

Want something unique to display in your baby's nursery, child's bedroom, or play room?  Collages and Artful Word Overlays are a beautiful way to create a custom piece for your child.

Collages are unique in that they incorporate several images from the session into one beautiful mounted wall print.  We also offer something called "Artful Word Overlays," in which a beautiful saying is laid onto an image in an artistic way.

Both Collages and Artful Word Overlays are available in many sizes, but some of the most common are 16x20, 10x20, 11x14, and 8x10.  Most colors and text are fully customizable, so they can match colors in your home.
