OH sweet little Eleanor.  She was an absolute dream to work with.  She loved every single pose I posed her in, and slept like a gem.  And what a gorgeous little girl she is!  I absolutely adore all of the set ups we got through and the sweet images we captured for her family to cherish always.

Jaylene's Newborn Session {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Sweet little Jaylene came to see me at the studio for her Newborn Studio Session with Miles of Smiles Photography.  And oh did we have fun!

I first met this family when I did Big Sister's 1 year Cake Smash session last year.  Check out this little cutie!

The D Twins: Little Sitter Session {Austin Baby Photographer}

This blog post is better late than never.  This was the last session that I shot in my Miles of Smiles Photography studio (the little blue house) before my family moved homes and I moved my studio to the new house to its designated studio space.  Needless to say, it's been a whirlwind 4 months, and it's no wonder this session never quite made it to the blog until now.

Eli's Newborn Session {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Eli came to see me at the studio right around a month old, which is a little older than most newborns are photographed (5-14 days)... but he rocked his session, and so did his big sisters!

Stella {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Little Stella was such an angel during her newborn session at our studio.  And her parents were absolutely smitten with their new and perfect baby girl.  I love capturing such sweetness on camera for my clients, and helping them create custom artwork for their homes.  These guys now have a gorgeous Canvas Gallery Wrap wall collection adorning their walls at home.

Her daddy gave her mommy this gorgeous locket with the saying, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always" on it for her "push present."  Isn't this the cutest?!

Sweet Everley... {Austin Newborn Photographer}

When sweet little newborn Everley came to the studio to see me around 14 days old, I was so excited to see that beautiful full head of hair.  Isn't she precious?  She absolutely *rocked* her newborn session, and is one of the best babies I've worked with so far.  (And I've worked with a lot of sweet Littles!)

It is so rewarding to work with families, watch them grow, and to get to capture such sweetness from when their babies are tiny for them to enjoy looking back on.  I can't wait until the gorgeous Canvas Gallery Wrap wall collection comes in so that this family can get it up on their walls and melt every time they see it.  There is so much more to photography than just images on a CD.

We're Movin' (On Over)! New Studio Location

(Written September 4, 2015)

Holy Crazy.  That is about all I can say about the last 11 days of our lives.

14 days ago, as the kids and I were coming home from something, I pulled the minivan over to grab a pricing sheet from the "for sale" sign at this house down the street from where we currently live.  Just then, a gal that lives nearby drove by, pulled over, and said, "Have you seen this house?"  I said, "No."  She said, "Do you want to see it?"

And the rest is history, folks.  For those of you who know me, you know my family is sort of bursting out of our current house.  We moved here 6 years ago when I was 7.5 months pregnant with my first born.  Then we had a baby boy, I started a business out of our home, we had a baby girl, business grew and I opened my Photography Studio, business went full time and exploded in the best way possible.

And now, because of all of that awesome stuff and hard work, my wonderful husband and all his hard work, and THE most amazing photography clients in the world, we are purchasing that house.  And that house has dedicated studio space so that I can shoot my sessions, provide a comfortable place for clients, AND my family can enjoy a lot more space than we currently had.  (And I can have a little more streamlined approach to working full time, picking my kiddos up at 2:30 now instead of 5 (that definitely changes a work day!), and the best part is that we're on the same street (pretty much) and have all of the same amazing neighbors!

So, needless to say, "unexpectedly buying a house," and now fixing our own house up to sell ASAP... and packing for a move (of both home and studio), and working full time has been a bit of a challenge.  But I'm more than up for it, and can't wait to see what the future holds in our new home and my new studio space.

(Oh, and my first born started Kindergarten last week too.  Nothing like major life changes all at once, right?)  I'll be living on coffee for the next few months, that is for sure!  But definitely feeling so blessed.

So... here are the answers to some questions.

1. When will your studio move to its new location?  October 7th, we'll be opening our new studio doors.
2. What is the studio space like?  When you walk into the house, the studio room is immediately on your right.  It is a big, open, beautiful room and perfect for my studio space.  Clients (when not in photos) will be able to wait comfortably in our formal sitting area just to the left.  
3. Will you still have all of your adorable props there?  Yes, yes, and yes.  (You know I love my props!)  
4. How far out are you booking?  Fall calendar is 95% filled.  For 2016, I'll be booking 3 months out and 4-5 months out for Fall (September - early December) sessions.
5. You guys... SANTA is coming on November 22nd.  We still have a few spots left for our "Cookies with Santa" mini-sessions!  Click here for details.

Wyatt {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Wyatt came to see me at just under 2 weeks old for his newborn photography session.  What a good little boy he was for his photos!

I had just gotten back the night before from an in-person newborn posing mentoring workshop (which was AH-MAZING!) in New Mexico... so I couldn't wait to try out some new things that I learned.

Asher {Austin Newborn Photographer}

When little Asher's mama contacted me after he was born to see if I could do a session, I wasn't sure we could fit it in.  But I'm SO glad that it worked out!  (I usually book 2-3 months in advance.)  He was so adorable, and did so well at his photo debut.

Little Aidan: One Week New

Oh, this little man... he was after my own heart from the moment he and his parents entered my studio.  You see, he had already been there... but it was when he was just a beautiful bump in his mama's belly for her maternity portraits.  He did SO great at our session, and I seriously could have snuggled with him for days.  I bet he's already so big now compared to when he was just one week old.

Baby's First Year Plan: The S Family {Austin Baby Photographer}

OH how I love my Baby's First Year Plan members.  There is something so fun about knowing that you're going to get to capture that baby and family's whole first year of amazing milestones and love as a family on camera.  Babies grow and change so quickly, and it is a joy to give families images to look back on forever as their baby(ies) grow.

I first met The S Family last fall.  They were SO much fun to photograph, and such a happy little family of three (soon to be four).  Click here for a blog post from their fall session.

I couldn't wait to meet their new baby girl, sweet little Catherine.  She was a week old at her newborn portrait session, and did such a good job!  She put up a little fight in the sleep category, but the photographer always wins in the end.  :)  And how adorable is her big sister Maddie?!  That big smile, those adorable curls, and all of that sweet energy.  She's over the moon about her new baby sister.  I can't wait to watch these kiddos grow and interact this year at their next two sessions as part of my Baby's First Year Plan.

Sweet Emery {Austin Newborn Photographer}

Little Emery was so good for her Studio Newborn Session at just under 2 weeks of age.  Big Brother wasn't too sure about her at the time, but I love the images we captured of them.  Enjoy a sneak peek into our session together.

This image below is one of my favorites of all time.  I have it in a gorgeous 20x24 canvas in my studio.  Isn't she beautiful?

Sawyer...12 Days New {Austin Newborn Photographer}

This little man was after my own heart.  I mean seriously... he was so good for our studio newborn session.  He started out wide awake, but once we were finished with sibling shots and got him comfy and cozy (and as his mom says, I became the "Baby Whisperer," ) he slept like a champ.

This session was a big one for me.  You see, I had been in contact with this family before little Sawyer was born.  When I checked back with them, she politely told me that they had decided to go with a cheaper photographer.  (Which by the way is totally fine... my price point is not for everyone, but it is what is required to make my business and studio run, to offer the quality images and exceptional products I do, to help support my family and full time work in it, etc.)

So when she contacted me a few days after Sawyer was born, I was a little surprised.  She emailed me asking if I had any last minute spots left, as the other session they scheduled did not go well.  Thankfully I had a spot to fit them in, and I am SO glad that we did.

At the session when I was shooting images of Sawyer in different setups, I remember his mama sitting on the couch with a big smile on her face and she said, "THIS is what I had hoped for... THIS is what I wanted to get out of a session."  And that right then and there just made my day.

"My family and I moved to Austin from Chicago in July of 2014.  At the time, I was 4 months pregnant and had a 1 year old.  Along with finding new doctors, learning the area and just settling in, I needed to prep for our new arrival in December.  One important mission was finding a photographer that could capture all the precious moments of our baby’s first days.

  

I googled local photographers and looked on the Circle C Facebook page for recommendations.   I kept coming across Miles of Smiles Photography.  In this process, I had reached out to Sarah to open up dialogue and get more details about her services.  In the meantime, I found someone else that was willing to take pictures of our baby, needed the work, and was less expensive.  Well, let’s just say, you get what you pay for.  The moment the photographer left our home, I was in tears and immediately reached out to Sarah to see if she had any openings that week.  Luckily she did! 

We met with Sarah a few days later and I immediately knew we had found the perfect photographer.  Her studio was suited for newborn and family photography.  She had age appropriate toys and the temp inside was excellent for achieving the perfect pictures of our new baby.  I like to dub Sarah, "The Baby Whisperer."  She was able to position our son anyway she wanted and was able to soothe him to sleep within minutes.  We had also brought our 18 month son along to get a few sibling shots and she was so energetic and engaging with him. She really made us feel comfortable every step of the way.
