The R Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I first met this family at the super fun Stars and Stripes event that I worked / photographed on July 3rd.  They were so nice, and their sweet little K is just a doll!

It was a muggy summer morning in the ATX, but we enjoyed a fun mini-session.  Here is a sneak peek.

The D Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I met the D Family because this mama saw my portraits on the walls at Renaissance Women's Group OB/GYN Offices.  After first talking, it turns out we share the same doctor, and we both mentioned that we almost wanted to have a third baby just so we can see that doctor again because she's so great.  (Almost.)

What a sweet family they are.  I love getting to know my clients over the phone, learning about their vision for our portrait session, and then bringing it to life through my camera.  And that is just what we did here.

As a mom, C was nervous before the session.  I reassured her that was normal.  (My own family has portraits tomorrow, and I'm nervous myself.  There are so many variables, and as mamas, we just want adorable family and child portraits.  The outfits, will the children behave, will the husband get bored?)  I told her it would be great, we would have some fun, and get great shots in the process.  Morning of, she called me and said that her little man was refusing to get dressed.  But they showed up ready to go, I worked a few of my kiddo tricks, and the session went down in my books as one of my favorites of all time.

I just love Austin.  And I love photographing families in Austin.  There is just something about that beautiful Austin skyline and amazing colors woven into a portrait session that makes my heart sing.  I can't wait to get the D Family their beautiful canvas gallery wraps, prints, frames, and images.  Love, love, love.

Enjoy a sneak peek into our morning together.  And if you're wanting to book a portrait session, don't delay... I only have about 6 spots left through August.  And then comes the super busy fall season.  So it's never too early to get on my calendar.  Visit www.milesofsmilesphotography.com for info.

The M Families {Austin Family Photographer}

 L contacted me to do family portraits because her whole family (3 kids and their families) would all be in town together at the same time (which is rare she said), and she wanted portraits of everyone together.

I can understand this, because I live 18 hours from my sweet family, and we, too, are rarely all together at the same time.  And when we are, we try our darndest to get a picture.  (This usually involves us setting up some crazy distraction (near the camera) for the kids to look at and laugh at.  It also involves a whole lot of chaos trying to get everyone ready for a picture, lining us all up, and getting the shot.  But... what we have for the rest of the year to love and cherish is a pretty picture.  We forget about the chaos it took to get it!

She said they really wanted some bluebonnet pictures, so I scoped out a location, and away we went.  The only problem was that Texas decided to be a very (!!) cold and windy 40 degrees that morning (after being 80 degrees the previous days).  But we made it happen - shivers and all!  Because I knew these pictures were so important to this family, and because that 40 degree windy day just didn't allow people to be comfortable, I did another quick shoot for them at one of my favorite locations a few days later.  (When it was 75 degrees!)

Enjoy the cuteness of the M families.  I can tell they all have so much fun together.

The H Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I love doing portrait sessions during The Golden Hour.  I just wish I could do more of them at that time.  Other than the fact that the lighting is warm and lovely, it is a nice little "escape" from the house and kiddos during what is normally a hectic time of day getting dinner ready and mouths fed.  But my hubby doesn't get home until almost dark, so for the time being, these sessions are a special treat.

The H Family was so much fun to work with!  Sometimes I forget how much easier it is photographing families with older kids - vs. families like mine with babies and toddlers.  It is a nice change, but I also just adore the Littles, too.

Enjoy a sneak peek into our session together.  Aren't their wardrobe colors amazing?  Good job, S!

The B Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I so enjoyed working with The B Family and getting to do their family portrait session.

Sometimes I forget how much easier it is photographing children in the age range of 10-15, as compared to the age range of 0-3 years old.  And then the session ends and I realize how much energy I still have left after the session.  (Photographing babies and toddlers, especially my own, is similar to running five miles in my book, but I love it!!  Although sometimes it is sure nice getting to photograph older kids that don't need to be chased.)  :)

I love the colors their mama chose for the session, and how similar (but not too matchy-matchy) she and her daughter dressed.  Enjoy the sneak peek from our time together.

To The B Family: The five of you were wonderful to work with!  Your kiddos are such sweethearts, and I can tell there is so much love in your family.  Enjoy your portraits!

First Family Portraits {Austin Family Photographer}

There are so many things that I love about being a photographer.  I have always been a people person and a creative person, so joining those two things together to serve the clients I work with is just the perfect job for me.  One of the other things I love most is getting to capture special moments for families as their babies and children grow.

The P Family was so wonderful to work with.  I noticed on their client paperwork that this was going to be their first family picture.  Their little man is 6 years old, and although they have had a few pictures done of him as a baby, this was to be their first family portrait experience.  He was so funny, and so much fun to work with.

I feel so honored that I was able to capture these moments for The P Family.  And how amazing do their colors look?!  Way to go, J!!  Love the look you created for your family.  And I love that these pictures will soon adorn your walls.  You have a beautiful family.

The R Family {Austin Family Photographer}

Miles of Smiles Photography just celebrated our second birthday this weekend, and OH did I have fun doing some amazing shoots with adorable families!

I enjoyed every minute of my session with the adorable R Family.  What adorable little men they have, and how stylish all four of them are!  Their mama is a super creative gal with her photography business.  And she even made little E's bowtie!  She is doing my family's portraits in a few weeks.  We are like a zoo on wheels sometimes, so it will be fun having someone else in charge of capturing my kiddos on camera.  Like any mom, I know that taking pictures of your own kids can be quite the adventure sometimes.  :)

It is always a treat getting to shoot in downtown Austin.  We live in such a beautiful city!  We had a great morning together, and I just love how these turned out.  Enjoy a sneak peek from our session together.

I'm loving the "R" on the building in the first image below... for the "R" Family.

The B Family {Austin Family Photographer}

I had so much fun doing the B family's session in downtown Austin earlier this fall.  Beautiful city in the background, and such a nice (not to mention hilarious) family to work with.   I am so blessed to get to work with such amazing clients in this business.

Enjoy a sneak peek from our session.
