Little Miss Turns One {Austin Family Photographer}

OH how I adore doing cake smash sessions!  They are so fun, unique, and a great way to capture a first (or second) birthday milestone.  I like to start them out by doing a few regular shots of baby, then moving into the cake smash, and then to the bubble bath.

Sweet Little Miss was such a doll.  Her parents told me she was a tough cookie to get smiles from, and she sure was... but I think her serious face is just as beautiful as her smiles.  As her parents and I were chatting, we realized they lived right next door to some of my family's best friends in our neighborhood.  I love that my neighborhood is like a "small town" in a big city!

Here is some cuteness from her Cake Smash session.

Katherine's 1 Year Cake Smash Session {Austin Family Photographer}

To say I get excited to see babies I photographed as newborns is an understatement. It is always fun seeing how much they have grown and changed since they were newborns.  I know I am amazed at that every day with my own babies, and it's fun to see MOSP babies grow too!

Sweet Katherine was such a little doll to work with.  Click here for her newborn session.

Flashback to 2012...

And now... 2013.

She came in all smiles, and got very serious about eating her cake with a spoon and then getting a bath afterwards.  Serious... but seriously cute!!

To K's mama: It was so fun seeing you girls again.  What a sweet baby K is!  Thank you for choosing me to capture such sweet memories on camera.  I can't wait to get your sweet prints and images to you in time for K's party, as well as your goodies from the Client Loyalty and Referral Program.  Love getting to work with families like yours!

What a Difference a Year Makes! {Austin Baby Photographer}

Oh, how I love watching babies grow into one year olds!  Miss Katherine first came to visit me last year around this time.  And boy, how she has changed since our first meeting!

Here is a sneak peek from our 1 year / cake smash session last week with a few of her newborn pics sprinkled in.  A full blog post with lots of pics to come soon!

Sweet Cake... Sweet Little Lucy {Austin Family Photographer}

OH how I love cake smash sessions!  Each one is as unique and sweet as the baby itself.

There is something so special about a baby turning one... about celebrating all that has happened (and been survived) during baby's first year.  Something so unique in capturing first birthday portraits, and then getting out the cake and finishing up with a little bubble bath.

I first met little Lucy when she was just a few days old.  What a beautiful newborn she was to work with, and what a doll she is today at 1 year old.

Here she is when she was just a tiny little sprout.  I wanted to incorporate the same flower crown that I made for her newborn session into her one year session.  Love it!  (Click here for the rest of the newborn  session.)

And here she is today...

I made this sweet little fabric banner and headband just for Lucy's cake smash, and I love how the turquoise (my favorite!) looks with her sweet hair and eyes.

And here is the adorable (and free) 12x12 mounted wall collage she got as part of my Cake Smash Special.

To Lucy's Family: It has been so fun watching your family grow over the last few years. I am honored to be your family's photographer.  Enjoy the cuteness of your baby girls!

Miss Amelia's Cake Smash Cuteness {Austin Family Photographer}

Oh my, how I adore cake smash sessions.  Especially with sweet baby girls like Amelia, who has cheeks and "cankles" (chubby little legs flowing into ankles) rivaling my own baby girl's (who just turned one too)!!  What a doll Amelia is.

I first met Amelia when I did individual portraits of all 250 kiddos at a school here last fall (image below).  She was just a tiny thing back then, but so smiley, and with such long eyelashes.  Isn't she a precious little thing?

When her mommy contacted me to do a first birthday cake smash, I couldn't wait!  (She took advantage of my Cake Smash Special - click here.  Awesome deal, and there are still a few spots remaining! (as of May 1st, 2013.  Contact me for availability.)

The session was so much fun!  We started out with some regular portraits and the smiles were flowing.  Then, her mama put on a tutu that her friends had made her at her baby shower before Amelia was born.  And then we brought out the cake.  And smashed it.  The rest is history!

I love finishing up my cake smash sessions with a bath and bubbles, and so do the babies!

 To Amelia and her mama: You gals were so much fun to work with.  Hope you love your images of your baby girl.  It has been fun watching her grow!

ONE & (the cake was) Done... {Austin Baby Photographer}

Crazy how quickly tiny babies become one year olds.  I'd say she loved her cake.  And the bath that followed!

I ordered this in a canvas gallery wrap with a pretty pink border, and it looks SO cute up on her wall!  (I melt every time I walk past it in her nursery.)

After the Cake Smash... {Austin Baby Photographer}

Sweet Cheeks enjoyed every last minute of her cake smash session.  I cannot believe she will be one very soon!

I think she enjoyed the bath portion of the cake smash session just as much as she loved smashing and eating her cake!  More coming soon on the actual smash...

Collage & Calendar Samples

Want something unique to display in your baby's nursery, child's bedroom, or play room?  Collages and Artful Word Overlays are a beautiful way to create a custom piece for your child.

Collages are unique in that they incorporate several images from the session into one beautiful mounted wall print.  We also offer something called "Artful Word Overlays," in which a beautiful saying is laid onto an image in an artistic way.

Both Collages and Artful Word Overlays are available in many sizes, but some of the most common are 16x20, 10x20, 11x14, and 8x10.  Most colors and text are fully customizable, so they can match colors in your home.
